I had the pleasure of learning R Data Analytics and Visualization under Dr Alvin Ang at Tertiary Infotech. His lessons were well-structured, engaging, and easy to follow, allowing even complex R programming concepts to be understood with confidence. Through a combination of clear explanations, practical examples, and hands-on exercises, he created an enjoyable and highly effective learning experience. Throughout the course, Dr Alvin covered a comprehensive range of topics including data wrangling with the tidyverse, data visualization using ggplot2, data manipulation with dplyr, tidyr and readr, piping with %>%, text mining using wordcloud, and statistical analysis techniques that are highly relevant to real-world data analytics. I had the privilege of attending a course R Programming Fundamentals and Statistics under Alvin. The practical examples and clear explanation enabled me to grasp the concepts easily. Really enjoyed Dr Alvin Ang's Machine Learning 101 for Financial Trading course. He has a jovial and engaging teaching style that makes even complex machine learning concepts easy to understand — we were never bored! What I found especially valuable was how he clearly showed where and how machine learning fits into the different stages of an AI trading system. The conceptual materials and sample Python codes shared were also very useful for further learning and experimentation after the course. A fair note for anyone considering the course: this is not a course on profitable trading strategies. It focuses on the fundamental building blocks of data-driven systematic trading, which I think is exactly what beginners need to build a solid foundation. Highly recommended for beginners, or anyone looking to refresh their ML knowledge and understand how it is being applied to systematic trading today. Dr Alvin Ang is a very engaging and knowledgeable trainer. During the course, Machine Learning 101 for Financial Trading he explains concepts clearly and uses practical examples that make the lessons easy to understand.
