Average Rating: 2.0/5 Review by Course Participant/Trainee
1. Do you find the course meet your expectation?
2. Do you find the trainer knowledgeable in this subject?
3. How do you find the training environment
I regret attending this course. In my assessment, I achieved no more than half of the intended learning outcomes.

The course may satisfy WSQ requirements on paper, but the actual delivery is seriously inadequate. The instructor relies excessively on live demos, typing YAML files and running console commands and mainly just narrating his own actions. Most of the time, we are watching him perform tasks he is already familiar with, rather than being taught in a structured and effective way.

The issue is not that the learners lack IT background. We are experienced IT practitioners. The problem is that the instructor does little to explain clearly what the yaml configuration syntax is meant to achieve, why it is being used, and how it affects the outcome. Instead, he keeps changing config settings and executing commands, expecting the class to understanding the meaning of his actions from observation alone. This makes the learning experience confusing, frustrating, and ineffective.

Although the slides are actually clear and informative, he barely uses them. We had also given feedback that he should follow the lesson slides more closely. However, even when he did use them, he tended to breeze through them quickly. It was apparent that he did not author the slides and was not sufficiently familiar with them to teach from them effectively. Rather than following the structure of the lesson materials, he depends almost entirely on practical demos. This makes the lessons poorly structured, difficult to follow, and overly dependent on his personal delivery style.

His very thick accent makes matters worse. With the demo-heavy and poorly structured teaching approach, it becomes genuinely difficult to follow what he is saying and to connect his explanation to the concepts being taught.

To be blunt, it seemed like we paid to watch someone work and talk through his own actions. The trainer taught at the level of a practitioner performing tasks, not at the level of learners trying to understand and apply the concepts. A certified course should not leave learners this lost.

SSG should seriously review not only the course content, but also the actual standard of teaching, lesson delivery, and whether the trainer is fit to deliver the course effectively. Certification should not be based on course materials alone when the actual classroom experience falls so far below an acceptable standard.

I would not recommend this course to anyone in its current form. (Posted on 6/26/2026)
