CompTIA Tech+ Training prepares you for the CompTIA Tech+ certification (exam FC0-U71), the entry-level credential that replaced CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+). Tech+ validates the foundational knowledge needed to work with technology confidently, from hardware and networks to software, data and security. The course is ideal for students, career switchers, non-technical professionals working with IT teams, and anyone starting a career in technology who wants a recognised first certification.

You will start with IT concepts and terminology, including notational systems, units of measure, the basics of computing and troubleshooting methodology. Next you will cover infrastructure: computer components, peripherals, storage, networking concepts, wireless and wired connectivity, and cloud and virtualisation fundamentals. You will then explore applications and software, including operating systems, common business software and how software is installed and managed, followed by software development concepts such as programming languages, logic and basic data structures.

The course continues with data and database fundamentals, explaining the value of data, database types and simple queries, and closes with security, covering confidentiality, integrity and availability, authentication, malware, safe browsing and best practices for protecting devices and data. Each domain is mapped to the official exam objectives and reinforced with practice questions. By the end, you will have a solid IT foundation and be well prepared to pass the CompTIA Tech+ exam.

Set up two PC for demonstration in the case of client and server interaction.

The content is superb, although too much to swallow given only 7 hours. Would highly prefer if it were split up (e.g. 2 sessions). (Posted on 3/5/2017)
