What You'll Learn
This course prepares you for the CV0-004 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:
Domain 1 Cloud Architecture (23%)
- Cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, FaaS) and the shared responsibility model
- Service availability: regions/AZs, DR (RTO/RPO), hot/warm/cold sites, cloud bursting, edge computing
- Cloud networking: VPN/dedicated connections, load balancers, CDN, firewalls, VPC peering/transit gateway, SDN/BGP
- Storage resource types (object/block/file), tiered storage, SSD/HDD, performance and cost tradeoffs
- Cloud-native design (microservices, loosely coupled architecture), containerization and virtualization concepts
- Cost considerations (billing models, tagging, rightsizing), database types, and evolving tech (AI/ML, IoT)
Domain 2 Deployment (19%)
- Cloud deployment models: public, private, hybrid, community, on-premises
- Deployment strategies: blue-green, canary, rolling, in-place
- Cloud migration types and application migration strategies (rehost, replatform, re-architect, retain, retire, refactor)
- Infrastructure as Code / Configuration as Code, scripting logic, drift detection, versioning, JSON/YAML
- Provisioning cloud resources against storage, performance, security, cost, availability, compliance, network and compute requirements
Domain 3 Operations (17%)
- Observability: logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, alerting/triage
- Scaling approaches: triggered (trending/load/event), scheduled, manual; horizontal vs vertical
- Backup and recovery: backup types (full/incremental/differential), retention, replication, encryption, recovery options
- Cloud resource lifecycle management: patching, updates, testing, ephemeral vs persistent data, decommissioning (EOL/EOS)
Domain 4 Security (19%)
- Vulnerability management: scanning, identification, assessment, remediation, CVEs
- Compliance and regulation: data sovereignty/ownership/locality/classification/retention, SOC2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CSA
- Identity and access management: authentication (MFA, federation/SAML, OIDC), authorization (RBAC, OAuth 2.0), accounting/audit trails
- Security best practices: Zero Trust, hardening, encryption (in transit/at rest), least privilege, container/API security, secrets management
- Security controls: DLP, IPS/IDS, DDoS protection, WAF, network ACLs/security groups
- Monitoring for suspicious activity: baseline deviation, phishing/social engineering, malware/ransomware, DDoS, cryptojacking
Domain 5 DevOps Fundamentals (10%)
- Source control concepts: version management, code commit/push/merge, pull requests, branch management, code review
- CI/CD pipeline concepts: build automation, code integration/deployment, testing, artifacts, image/package repositories
- Container image workflows and package formats (RPM, Debian, tar, ZIP)
- Automation and orchestration of code deployment and infrastructure workflows
Domain 6 Troubleshooting (12%)
- Given a scenario, troubleshoot common cloud connectivity and networking issues
- Given a scenario, troubleshoot common security-related issues in the cloud environment
- Given a scenario, troubleshoot common deployment issues
- Given a scenario, troubleshoot common performance and capacity issues
- Apply a general troubleshooting methodology (identify, establish theory, test, implement, document)

SSG Training Grant
SSG TG is $15 per pax. Net fee after SSG TG is $303.86. Absentee Payroll is not eligible.

This is an intermediate level course. The following prerequisite is assumed
