Dr. Alfred Ang designs and ships production systems on Anthropic's platform, which is exactly the kind of experience the Claude Certified Architect - Foundations exam sets out to test. He is a full-stack AI developer and Agentic AI solution architect specialising in multi-agent system design, and serves as Managing Director, CIO, CTO and Chief Instructional Designer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd. His agent toolkit spans n8n, Langflow, Flowise, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Google Gemini Agent SDK, Microsoft AutoGen and CrewAI, but much of his recent public work is built with the Claude Agent SDK and Claude Code. Among his 300+ GitHub repositories are ai-pei, an AI-powered Next.js CMS whose chatbot, auto-blog scheduler and SEO features are powered by the Claude Agent SDK; a WSQ courseware generation platform built with the Claude Agent SDK and Streamlit; Tapcard, a business card and CRM platform; and published Claude Code skill collections covering app start-up, README generation, Docker Hub pushes, secret scanning and courseware production. His architecture credentials include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AI Practitioner and Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified AI Engineer Associate (AI-102), CompTIA Security+ and a Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance (Senior Professional) from NTU. He also holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from NUS and has co-invented more than 20 US patents. He also holds an MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU and a Graduate Diploma in Intelligent Robotics Systems from NUS-ISS, and he is a Neo4j Certified Professional.
This exam prep course follows the five official CCAR-F exam domains, and Dr. Ang teaches each one through the design decisions he faces when building real Claude applications. Learners start with agentic architecture and orchestration, comparing single-agent and multi-agent patterns and deciding when a workflow needs an agent at all. Tool design and MCP integration come next, covering how to define tools with clear contracts and connect Claude to external systems safely. The third domain examines Claude Code configuration and workflows, where his own published skills serve as concrete examples of how reusable instructions and project settings shape an agent's behaviour. Prompt engineering and structured output follow, with attention to reliable JSON and schema-driven responses, and the course closes with context management and reliability, including how to keep long-running agents within their context budget and how to design for failure and recovery. Throughout, he frames questions the way the exam does, asking learners to weigh trade-offs in cost, latency, security and maintainability rather than memorise features. As an ACTA-certified trainer and DACE-certified curriculum developer, he blends exam-style scenario practice with hands-on labs, so learners prepare for the credential while also gaining skills they can apply in their next Claude project. He also explains how the exam's scenario questions map to everyday engineering choices, so revision feels practical rather than abstract.
