Skills Framework

This course follows the guideline of Data and Statistical Analytics PTP-BIN-4055-1.1 TSC under Public Transport Skills Framework

Certification

Two e-certificates will be awarded to trainees who have demonstrated competency in the WSQ assessment and achieved at least 75% attendance.

Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by WSG. You can download the SOA from here after 3-4 weeks upon completion of the course. Note that the SOA certificate title indicates the TSC title not the course title.
Certification of Achievement issued by Tertiary Infotech Pte Ltd issued after the class.

Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency.
We reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

$4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee.

SFEC:

If the Training Provider has submitted an enrolment for course fee grant claim in Training Partners Gateway (TPGateway), SSG would be able to derive SFEC funding based on this record. There is no need for enterprise to submit any claim request and the SFEC claim will be automatically generated and disbursed.
Where there is no such record, eligible employers are required to submit an SFEC claim after course completion via the SFEC microsite.

Steps to Apply Skills Future Claim

The staff will send you an invoice with the fee breakdown.
Login to the MySkillsFuture portal, select the course you’re enrolling on and enter the course date and schedule.
Enter the course fee payable by you (including GST) and enter the amount of credit to claim.
Upload your invoice and click ‘Submit’

Get Additional Course Fee Support Up to $500 under UTAP

The Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is a training benefit provided to NTUC Union Members with an objective of encouraging them to upgrade with skills training. It is provided to minimize the training cost. If you are a NTUC Union Member then you can get 50% funding (capped at $500 per year) under Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).

Dwight Nuwan Fonseka: Dwight Nuwan Fonseka have a degree in Biotechnology (from NUS) ,Advanced diploma in Pharmaceutical management (from MDIS) and Masters in Education (from NTU). He have 8 years experience of teaching biology at O and A levels/ IB level in international schools in Singapore and overseas He is a ACLP certified trainer.

Liew Sing Loon: Liew Sing Loon is a ACTA certified trainer. Liew Sing Loon graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1992 with a Second Upper Honors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He started his career as an Electronic Product Design Engineer for four years in a Multinational Company which sell the products worldwide. The job provided him practical knowledge in various aspects of manufacturing operations ranges from Design, Quality, Production and Procurement. He then spent fifteen years in Information Technology Sector as a Key Account Manager in selling IT solutions to Banking, Telecommunications and Government clients. The job provided him the opportunities to propose IT solutions, integrating software, hardware and services, to solve customers’ problems to achieve their strategic business objectives. He joint a German Product Test company to develop its business in providing product Safety, Immunity, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Certification test. While working in the industry, Liew Sing Loon obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Technology Management from NUS.

In the last decade, Liew Sing Loon has been Adjunct Lecturer in several Institutes of high learning, transferring his knowledge on Quantitative & Statistical Analysis, Operations, Project & Quality Management to learners ranging from Diploma, full time undergraduates and working adults.Liew Sing Loon has a Certificate of Completion in Education Psychology Course and Teaching & Learning in Higher Education Program conducted by National Institute of Education (NIE).

It will be good to hold advance class to follow up on the fundamentals learnt. While the pace may be fast at times due to the breadth covered, it will be better to spread the content beyond 2 days. Basic understand of statistics was actually required to keep up with the class, although not stated. It will also be useful to prepare and remind students that Excel (eg. Which version?) is required due to the practices required during class. It will also be good to inform during registration that this is an online zoom class instead of physical class. I attended the course conducted by Dr Alvin. He is extremely enthusiastic about data science and greatly caring about his students, whether they are able to understand the concepts. He also makes it a point to always highlight real world scenarios for applying the relevant concepts. His lessons and materials allow for learning to be more stream-lined and helps to make even complicated subjects seem much easier to process. I personally came here with minimal experience in data science. Dr. Alvin’s lesson has provided me a great introduction to it and has sparked an interest in me to further develop my knowledge in data science. Will greatly recommend all to join.
