What You'll Learn
This course prepares you for the Associate certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:
Domain 1 Section 1: Setting up a cloud solution environment (20%)
- Setting up cloud projects and accounts: resource hierarchy, org policies, IAM roles, Cloud Identity users/groups, API enablement
- Assessing quotas and requesting increases; verifying product availability across regions/zones
- Configuring Cloud Asset Inventory and using Gemini Cloud Assist to analyze resources
- Configuring Workforce Identity Federation and setting up cloud networking
- Managing billing configuration: billing accounts, linking projects, budgets/alerts, billing exports
Domain 2 Section 2: Planning and implementing a cloud solution (30%)
- Planning and implementing compute resources: choosing Compute Engine/GKE/Cloud Run/serverless, launching instances, managed instance groups, GKE cluster deployment, GPUs/TPUs
- Planning and implementing storage and data solutions: Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, Spanner, Bigtable, Cloud Storage classes, data loading, multi-region redundancy
- Planning and implementing networking resources: VPC/subnets, firewall rules and Cloud NGFW policies, network connectivity (VPN/Peering/Interconnect), load balancers, network service tiers
- Planning and implementing resources using tooling: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Config Connector, Helm) and AI-assisted planning (Gemini CLI, Gemini Cloud Assist, Application Design Center)
Domain 3 Section 3: Ensuring the successful operation of a cloud solution (30%)
- Managing compute resources: Compute Engine instances, snapshots/images, GKE node pools and Kubernetes resources, Pod autoscaling, Cloud Run deployments and traffic splitting
- Managing storage and data solutions: securing Cloud Storage objects, lifecycle policies, querying data instances, backup/restore, cost estimation, CMEK
- Managing networking resources: resizing subnets, static IPs, custom routes, Cloud DNS and Cloud NAT, firewall/NGFW policy management
- Monitoring and logging: Cloud Monitoring alerts and custom metrics, audit logs, log routers/analytics, diagnostic tools (Cloud Trace, Cloud Profiler), Ops Agent, Gemini Cloud Assist and Active Assist for monitoring
Domain 4 Section 4: Configuring access and security (20%)
- Managing IAM: viewing/creating IAM policies, role inheritance in the Organization hierarchy, custom IAM roles
- Managing service accounts: creation, minimum-permission IAM policies, assigning to resources, impersonation, short-lived credentials
- Using Google Cloud service accounts with GKE applications
- Provisioning Workload Identity Federation

Truman has over 15 years project experiences across Database & Web Design, PLC machinery, Data Center Design , Structure Cabling System(SCS) and Enterprise Network Design and Implementation. He used to be a network architect for Hewlett Packard, working with a group of virtual team from the US in handling network design and projects in the States.
Truman is the founder of Nexplore (S) Pte Ltd. He provides solutions of Cloud SaaS, IaaS & PaaS and Software Defined Network (SDN), VoIP and Internet Security. He was engaged by Huawei Global Training Center to provide 60+ consultations and trainings for Internet Service Providers(ISP) from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Australia, Poland, Iran, South Africa, Swaziland, Cote Dlvoire, Syria, Uzbekistan, New Zealand and countries over the world.As achievement, Truman has successfully completed 100+ IT network projects for Bank, Hotel and Factory within 5 years.Truman is certified in PMP, Cisco CCNP, CCIP, CCDP, HP Ase and Huawei HCNP, HCIE R&S, HCNA Cloud, HCNA Security, etc.
