The training environment was very noisy because staff kept walking in an out to get things, it was very disruptive and the chatting in the corridor could be clearly heard inside the classroom. The trainer was clearly knowledgeable and well practiced in LaTeX but went a little fast and sometimes had difficulty understanding our questions. The trainer was a little monotonous and it was difficult to concentrate at times. Additionally, the trainer we got wasn't the trainer listed in the website, I doubt it would have made a difference, content-wise, but I find it a bit duplicitous, and I should hope the teaching style would have been different, possibly better. I did managed to learn LaTeX, and in that way the course did meet my expectations but the instruction and setting leave much to be desired. (Posted on 12/15/2017)1.
