This course prepares you for the PK0-005 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:
Domain 1 1.0 Project Management Concepts (33%)
- Project characteristics and methodologies/frameworks (Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, PRINCE2, SDLC)
- Compare and contrast Agile vs. Waterfall approaches
- Apply the change control process (change control board, change log, scope creep management)
- Perform risk management activities (risk identification, qualitative/quantitative analysis, risk responses)
- Perform issue management activities and schedule development/management (critical path, dependencies, resource loading)
- Quality/performance management, communication management, meeting management, team & resource management, and procurement/vendor selection concepts
Domain 2 2.0 Project Life Cycle Phases (30%)
- Discovery/concept preparation phase artifacts (business case, ROI analysis, CapEx vs. OpEx)
- Project initiation phase activities (project charter, stakeholder identification, RACI/responsibility assignment matrix)
- Project planning phase activities (scope statement, WBS, project schedule, communication plan, QA plan, initial risk assessment)
- Project execution phase activities (executing tasks per plan, organizational change management, vendor management, tracking/reporting, conflict management)
- Project closing phase activities (deliverable validation, contract closure, closeout report, lessons learned, project sign-off)
Domain 3 3.0 Tools and Documentation (19%)
- Tracking charts and tools (Gantt chart, PERT chart, milestone chart, project network diagram, risk register, issue/defect/change logs)
- Project management productivity tools: communication, collaboration, meeting, documentation/office production, scheduling tools
- Analyze quality and performance charts (histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, scatter diagrams, fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams, control charts, burnup/burndown, velocity chart, decision tree)
Domain 4 4.0 Basics of IT and Governance (18%)
- Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors related to project management
- Information security concepts impacting project management (physical, operational, digital, and data security)
- Compliance and privacy considerations (PII/PHI, legal/regulatory impacts, industry-specific compliance)
- Basic IT concepts (infrastructure, cloud models — IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/XaaS, enterprise software systems)
- Operational change-control processes during an IT project (IT infrastructure and software change control, CI/CD, production vs. staging environments)
