SC-200 Security Operations Analyst in Singapore: Exam Domains, Funding and Practice Exams
SC-200 is the Microsoft credential for SOC analysts working in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. This guide covers what the exam measures, what the 4 days WSQ course covers, and what you pay after SkillsFuture funding — $1,180 for Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 21 and above, or $780 for Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above.
Why SC-200 is worth sitting
Security operations is a skills-shortage role in Singapore, and Microsoft Sentinel is one of the most widely deployed SIEM platforms in the market. SC-200 certifies the analyst who lives in it day to day — writing KQL, triaging incidents across Defender XDR, and hunting for what the alerts missed.
- Managing the security operations environment is the heaviest domain at 40–45% of the exam.
- KQL is covered thoroughly — constructing queries, multi-table statements and analysing results is a core skill for any Sentinel operator.
- The full Defender suite is included: Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, Cloud Apps and Cloud.
- Threat hunting carries 20–25%, including notebooks and search jobs.
The course is mapped to the Skills Framework under Security Strategy (TSC code ICT-SNA-5021-1.1), and leads to roles such as Security Operations Analyst, Information Systems Auditor, IT Security Specialist, Network Security Analyst. Check the funding you qualify for.
