Dr. Alfred Ang's interest in 3D, spatial computing and generative design runs through many of his recent projects. He is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer, and serves as Managing Director, CIO, CTO and Chief Instructional Designer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd. He is a Unity Certified User, holds a Graduate Diploma in Intelligent Robotics Systems from NUS-ISS, and earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from NUS after a B.Sc (Hons) in Physics, where he topped his cohort. He has worked in the defence, electronics and semiconductor industries and co-invented more than 20 US patents, experience that gives him a feel for engineering precision and design constraints. Among his 300+ public GitHub repositories are a browser-based WebXR playground that generates and reviews AR and VR scenes from vibe prompts; an iPhone and iPad sketching studio with layers, symmetry and sketch-to-AR; a GPU-accelerated fractal art generator built with Metal on iOS and OpenGL ES on Android; a logo generator that turns a text description into design options using Gemini or OpenAI image models; and a set of interactive, animated explainers on geometry and physics built with canvas graphics. Together they reflect an ongoing practice of turning text prompts and sketches into visual and spatial assets. He is also an ACTA-certified trainer and DACE-certified curriculum developer, and as Chief Instructional Designer he oversees courseware across AI, cloud computing and modern application development. He enjoys exploring how emerging generative tools can make design work faster and more accessible to professionals without a traditional 3D background.
In this WSQ course, Dr. Ang helps participants use generative AI as a creative partner across the 3D workflow. Learners start with the essentials of 3D modelling, including geometry, topology, materials, lighting, scale and model organisation, then apply effective prompting to translate text descriptions, reference images, sketches and design requirements into concepts and model variations. The second topic focuses on analysing, validating and refining AI-generated models, comparing alternatives and fixing issues such as poor topology or inconsistent scale. The final topic covers optimisation, standards and production workflows, preparing assets that are efficient and ready for use in games, AR and VR, product visualisation or print. Drawing on his Unity background and his own AR and VR experiments, he is realistic about what current AI tools do well and where a designer's judgement remains essential. His sessions are hands-on and iterative: learners generate, critique and improve their own models, building a dependable AI-assisted pipeline from idea to production-ready asset. He also discusses practical considerations such as file formats, polygon budgets, consistent naming and documentation, and the intellectual property questions that arise when AI tools generate design assets. Participants are encouraged to work on a project related to their own field, whether product design, architecture, games, education or marketing, so their learning transfers directly. To explore his WebXR, sketching and generative design projects, view his GitHub portfolio at https://github.com/alfredang and connect with him on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/angchewhoe/
Shahul Hameed Maricar is a certified ACLP trainer and MOE instructor with over a decade of experience in systems integration, product design and technical training, and he guides learners in applying generative AI to real 3D design and visualisation tasks, from AI model generation to mesh cleanup, texturing and optimisation. His career spans 3D art, mechatronics, embedded systems and industrial design, and he has deep technical skills in 3D design software such as Blender and Fusion 360, along with programming in Python, JavaScript and C++. He has also trained learners in AutoCAD, Fusion 360 and Blender, equipping them with technical drawing and 3D modelling skills, and integrates digital and physical product development in his teaching.
In WSQ - Generative AI for 3D Modeling, Shahul focuses on hands-on, project-based learning. The course concludes with 3D model optimisation, standards and production workflows, where his Blender and product design experience helps participants turn AI-generated drafts into clean, usable assets. Learners leave able to create, refine and optimise 3D models with AI-assisted workflows and to apply these skills confidently to design and visualisation projects.
Bernard Chan is a mechanical design engineer and CAD specialist with expertise in product development, 3D modelling and engineering design across manufacturing, consumer electronics and precision engineering, where he has led projects from concept ideation to prototype fabrication. Skilled in Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks and AutoCAD, he has a deep understanding of parametric modelling, simulation workflows and design for manufacturability. He is also an ACLP-certified trainer and Autodesk Revit Certified Professional, and has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at BCA Academy since 2011.
In Generative AI for 3D Modeling, Bernard applies this design engineering background to AI-assisted modelling workflows. Learners use generative AI to turn text descriptions, reference images, sketches and design requirements into 3D concepts and model variations, while applying sound principles of geometry, topology, materials, lighting and scale. He then guides participants through analysing, validating and refining their models, correcting geometry and topology, and producing professional design documentation. The course concludes with model optimisation, standards and production workflows. With his emphasis on precision and workflow efficiency, participants gain the ability to apply generative AI effectively in real design and engineering contexts.
