What You'll Learn
This course prepares you for the INF-104 certification exam, covering all official exam domains:
Domain 1 Cloud Concepts
- Explain cloud advantages to stakeholders (infrastructure, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, faster/cheaper app building)
- Explain cost to stakeholders (compute/data/network costs, support plans for PASR, ROI)
- Explain performance, reliability (SLA, disaster recovery/backup), and availability to stakeholders
- Explain scalability to stakeholders (auto-scaling rules based on demand)
- Recommend off-the-shelf (e.g. Office 365, Adobe Express) vs custom cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud)
Domain 2 Developing Cloud Architecture
- Choose between public, private, and hybrid cloud implementations
- Draw an architectural diagram showing compute/data/network components, logical groupings, and data flows
- Define requirements: virtualization decisions, serverless benefits, networking/storage/memory needs
- Identify how services communicate via APIs
- Create virtual machines (OS, sizing, geographic/latency/legal factors, scaling and backup configuration)
- Identify data storage requirements (structured vs unstructured, capacity, location, security)
Domain 3 Implementing the Cloud Development Life Cycle
- Create content in virtual environments using source-code management systems (e.g. GitHub)
- Perform testing: test cases, scenarios, scripts, and iterative bug reporting
- Structure the overall cloud-based solution: integrate with legacy/third-party systems, choose containers (Docker) vs VMs (Hyper-V) vs microservices
- Deploy applications: deployment strategy, version control, CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
Domain 4 Deploying the Application (Managing Cloud Operations)
- Manage operational costs via usage-based pricing and scale up/down cost-effectively
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery policy (risk scenarios, on-prem vs offsite backup)
- Provide support to users (security policies, application/hardware support, training tools)
- Monitor cloud systems: log events, monitor hardware/software dashboards, configure alerts/notifications
Domain 5 Understanding Cloud Governance
- Comply with privacy and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PDPA, FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, CCPA, NIST/ISO frameworks)
- Comply with ethical guidelines (bias, transparency, accountability in prebuilt services)
- Manage cloud security: identity verification/MFA, access policies (least privilege, custom vs vendor roles), data encryption, intrusion detection/firewalls
