Google Classroom helps students and teachers organise assignments, boost collaboration, and foster better communication. Google Classroom gives educators access to a free tool that's already seamlessly integrated with Google Drive, and is designed to simplify elearning, including paperless assignments and grading.

Trainers

e-Learning TrainerDr. Mak Wai Keong has a Doctor of Education (EdD.) and has completed his Masters of Science (MSc) degree in Management of Technology in 2000 at the National University of Singapore. In 1994, he obtained his Bachelor of Science (Merit) in Chemistry and Mathematics from the National University of Singapore.

Upon graduation with a BSc degree, he started his career in the area of training and multimedia development, and set up a company in 1997 to focus on multimedia training development for the telecommunications and semi-conductor industries. Being passionate in research and training, and educating the youth, he then moved to the academic and research domains as a lecturer at Temasek and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. His research capacity started at SIM University as a Research Associate, and National Institute of Education (Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practices (CRPP). He was able to apply his experience in Learning Technology areas at the Singapore Polytechnic and Yale-NUS College where he was the Associate Director for Educational Resources & Technology.

Dr. Mak last appointment was at the Institute for Adult Learning, Innovation Lab (iN.LAB) as the Senior Learning Innovator before starting out on his own. He curated 4 major programs for iN.LAB, namely InnovByte, InnovLogue, InnovJam and InnovPlus.

He is author and co-author of numerous international journal and conference papers. Currently, he is the Group CEO of Edtrix Group – comprises Edtrix Solutions Pte. Ltd., Edtrix Innovation Pte. Ltd., Edtrix Enterprise Pte. Lte. and SmartzWerkz Pte. Ltd. His work involves research and development in Learner (and Gamer) Profiling (a psychometric tool that purports one’s learning preference) through Block Chain, Artificial Intelligence (Data, Textual, Auditory and Video [DTAV] Analytics), Supervised, Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning. He is also into Conscious and Unconscious Learning through Games. He is currently working on various AI projects with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, GSK Singapore, as well as consultancy work with SIM GE and ITE College East. He has also extended his skills and knowledge in this area through various consultancy works. Edtrix Solutions is a reseller and distributor of iSpringSolutions software in Singapore

Google Classroom TrainerDeric Yeak is the Founder and Director of Lefty Talents Group (www.leftygroup.com). Lefty Talents Group is a software development, design and digital marketing company that leverages on new technologies as the key driver to create compelling ideas to realize visions.

Having MNCs and established local SMEs as their clientele, Deric has experience in digital advertising and leveraging on new Infocomm Technology (ICT) to develop mobile and web applications to transform businesses to embrace the 4th Industrial Revolution (Cyber-physical Systems.

Passionate in product development and teaching, Deric trains tech start-ups using Design Sprint, a problem-solving methodology from Google Ventures in accelerator programs and hackathons. He is also a regular judge for NUS post-graduate MBA courses.

Prior to that, he was a trader and stockbroker in the equity market where he developed an algorithm for his own personal investments. Apart from financial services, Deric also worked in manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods as well as the offshore and marine sectors. He held engineering positions in regional sales, costing and project management.

Deric is WSQ ACTA qualified Adult Educator and an alumni of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), graduating with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) degree
