Patrick Oh is a Singapore Certified Management Consultant who negotiates as a normal part of running his own practice, SG Venture Consulting. Listed by TUV SUD as a certified consultant, he advises organisations on governance, risk and compliance, corporate compliance, performance management and solutions design, and he holds the CIPM certification from the IAPP. A training-provider trainer profile records more than 13 years of Singapore PDPA consultancy. He implements and audits ISO management systems, including quality and environmental management and ISO 14064 greenhouse gas accounting, and he is active in sustainability reporting and community development. Before moving into consulting he worked for years as an automation design engineer. Agreeing engagement terms with clients, aligning departments behind a compliance programme and building consensus in community settings have given him practical, varied experience of negotiation, from commercial discussions to sensitive conversations where the relationship matters as much as the outcome.
In this masterclass Patrick shares that practitioner's perspective across the two core topics. Under preparation for negotiation, he shows learners how to define the outcomes they want, understand the context and the people involved, recognise different negotiation styles and cultural expectations, and gather the background information that gives them confidence at the table, much as he prepares for any important client meeting. Under negotiation tactics, he covers opening offers, handling difficult people, listening and building empathy, and using anchoring and framing to create value for both sides. His compliance and governance background adds a reminder that a good agreement must be clear, workable and defensible, especially when contracts, supplier arrangements or personal data are involved. Learners practise these techniques through realistic scenarios such as closing a sale, agreeing a contract, managing suppliers, resolving disputes and negotiating internally. They leave able to negotiate better outcomes with greater confidence, protect their interests and build business relationships that last well beyond a single deal.
Tan Teck Hwa brings extensive professional experience in business management, customer relations and service leadership, with a track record of guiding teams through change management, process improvements and customer-focused strategies. He has served as Chief Operating Officer of Unihearts International Education Group in China, Vice Principal at SMRT Institute, Corporate Services Director at ETT Academy and Vice Principal for strategic planning at Hwa Chong International School, and has conducted leadership and management development training. He holds a Master of Education from NIE, NTU, a Bachelor of Engineering from Polytechnic University, Japan, and the Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance.
In Business Negotiation Masterclass, Teck Hwa brings a management perspective shaped by his senior operational, corporate services and strategic planning roles. Learners first prepare thoroughly: identifying their desired outcomes, understanding the context and the roles involved, recognising negotiation styles and social and cultural differences, and planning with solid background information. They then practise tactics for opening offers, dealing with difficult people, listening with empathy, anchoring and framing for mutual benefit, and closing and debriefing a negotiation. Managers, sales and procurement professionals, account managers and business owners leave better prepared to protect their interests while creating value for both sides and building lasting relationships.
Armand Abdul Rahim is a certified trainer and learning consultant with strong expertise in customer engagement, interpersonal effectiveness and professional communication, helping professionals build rapport and deliver persuasive messages. He brings more than 20 years of ICT experience across the Asia Pacific region, with core expertise in leadership and management, digital and product marketing and project management, including more than 10 years in product and programme management. He holds a Master's in Marketing Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Marketing and a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education, and serves as an Adjunct Lecturer with DeepNovaSG and London School of Business Finance.
In Business Negotiation Masterclass, Armand applies his communication and marketing background to the practical side of reaching agreement. Learners prepare by identifying their negotiation outcomes, understanding the context and roles, recognising negotiation styles and cultural differences, and building a clear plan. He then guides them through tactics for opening offers, handling difficult people, listening and building empathy, anchoring and framing, and closing and debriefing. His emphasis on emotional intelligence, rapport building and handling challenging conversations, delivered through interactive discussions and practical exercises, helps participants negotiate with greater confidence, protect their interests and create value that sustains long-term business relationships.
