Dr. Alfred Ang brings an engineer's eye for how distributed systems really work to the subject of blockchain. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, an MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU and a B.Sc (Hons) in Physics from NUS, and his earlier career in the defence, electronics and semiconductor industries produced more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and more than 20 US patents as co-inventor. Continuously expanding his skills, he works across IT, AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, robotics and quantum computing, and is CompTIA Security+ certified and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Today he is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer, and serves as Managing Director, CIO, CTO and Chief Instructional Designer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd, having founded Tertiary Courses. He is also a serial entrepreneur who has built and run several technology businesses, giving him a practical sense of where new technology creates real value and where it does not. His GitHub portfolio of more than 300 public repositories reflects a habit of explaining hard ideas visually: quantumlabs, for example, teaches quantum computing through interactive lessons and simulators, including the BB84 key-distribution protocol, and other repositories are interactive explainers of advanced mathematics and physics. He is an ACTA-certified trainer, DACE-certified curriculum developer and IBM certified instructor for the AI Practitioners course. His ventures include Tertiary Robotics, founded in 2015, and Tertiary Courses Malaysia. He is also an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and holds the Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance (Senior Professional) from NTU.
In the Blockchain Fundamentals Masterclass, Dr. Ang uses that teaching style to make a technical subject clear for business professionals, developers and curious newcomers alike. The masterclass starts with distributed ledgers and why a shared, tamper-resistant record can be trusted without a central authority, then explains cryptocurrency, wallets and the consensus mechanisms that keep a network in agreement. From there it moves into smart contracts and decentralised applications, and learners take part in building and deploying a simple dApp so the concepts become something they have seen working rather than just read about. The final topic looks at real use cases in finance, supply chains and digital identity, alongside the risks and regulatory questions that organisations need to weigh before adopting the technology. His cybersecurity background shapes how he discusses wallet security, key management and common scams, and his experience as a technology founder helps him separate practical applications from hype. He explains each idea step by step with diagrams and live demonstrations, checks understanding regularly, and leaves time for questions about how blockchain might apply in each learner's own work. As an ACTA-certified trainer and DACE-certified curriculum developer, he aims to send learners away able to evaluate blockchain proposals with confidence. He also contrasts public and permissioned blockchains so that learners can see which model suits a given business problem. Truman Ng is an ACTA-certified trainer and engineer whose career has centred on the networks, data systems and security that distributed technologies depend on. A 2002 Electrical Engineering graduate of NUS, he built over 15 years of project experience in database and web design, data centre design and enterprise network design and implementation, including a role as network architect for Hewlett Packard. As founder of Nexplore (S) Pte Ltd he provides cloud, software-defined networking, VoIP and internet security solutions, and he was engaged by the Huawei Global Training Center for more than 60 consultations and training sessions for internet service providers in countries from Malaysia and Australia to Poland and South Africa.
In the Blockchain Fundamentals Masterclass, Truman uses this grounding in networks, databases and security to explain blockchain in clear, practical terms. Learners examine distributed ledgers, cryptocurrencies, wallets and consensus mechanisms, then move on to smart contracts and decentralised applications, building and deploying a simple dApp. He also covers real-world use cases in finance, supply chains and digital identity, alongside the risks and regulation that come with them. Business professionals, developers and IT staff leave with a solid understanding of how blockchain and Web3 work and where they can add value in their organisations.
Alfred Yap is an ACLP-certified trainer with extensive experience in information technology, and blockchain is one of his current areas of interest alongside cyber security and cloud computing. He is an IBM Certified Cloud Computing Practitioner and an IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner, and he brings a strong financial and shopper marketing domain background to his teaching. Alfred has taught adult learners since the 1990s, starting as a trainer for Oracle University and later conducting ICT-related training for companies in the consulting, media and training industries. He holds an undergraduate degree from USF in America and a master's degree in Knowledge Management from NTU, Singapore.
In Blockchain Fundamentals Masterclass, Alfred combines his security and financial domain perspective to explain how blockchain creates trusted, tamper-resistant records without a central authority. Learners explore distributed ledgers, cryptocurrency, wallets and consensus mechanisms, then move on to smart contracts and decentralised applications, including building and deploying a simple dApp. The course closes with real-world use cases, risks and regulation, where his network security training on everyday risk management is especially relevant. With practical, relatable examples, Alfred makes technical ideas accessible to non-specialists, so participants leave able to assess where blockchain genuinely adds value.
Terence Ee is an independent consultant and trainer with more than 25 years of corporate IT experience, including senior management roles in the public and private sectors. He has served as Chief Information Officer at the Supreme Court of Singapore and Vice President of Information Systems at Senoko Energy, where he led major IT modernisation projects. His current training focus includes information security management, project management and quality management, and as a WSQ-accredited trainer he also delivers programmes in IT governance. He holds a Master of Science in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences, and is ACLP-certified.
In this masterclass, Terence brings an enterprise IT and governance lens to blockchain technology. He walks learners through distributed ledgers, cryptocurrencies, wallets and consensus mechanisms, then moves on to smart contracts and decentralised applications, culminating in building and deploying a simple dApp. His background in information security and IT governance is especially useful in the final topic on use cases, risks and regulation, where participants weigh where blockchain genuinely fits an organisation and what controls it demands. With a facilitation style built on case studies and hands-on practice, he helps learners move beyond the hype to a grounded understanding of how blockchain works and how to evaluate it for real business needs.
