Dr. Alfred Ang brings an engineer's understanding of how generative image models work to a course that is ultimately about creative craft. He is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect, courseware developer and corporate trainer, and the founder of Tertiary Courses, serving as Managing Director, CIO, CTO and Chief Instructional Designer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd. In 2007 he founded OSWeb2Design Singapore, a firm offering web development, graphics design, ebook publishing and digital marketing services, so visual communication has long been part of his work. His technical grounding includes a PhD in Electrical Engineering from NUS, an MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU, a B.Sc (Hons) in Physics from NUS and a Graduate Diploma in Intelligent Robotics Systems from NUS-ISS, along with Microsoft Certified AI Engineer Associate (AI-102), AWS Certified AI Practitioner and Unity Certified User credentials. Several of his public GitHub projects deal directly with AI imagery: logomaker generates logo options from a text description using Gemini and OpenAI image models; passportphotoapp performs on-device background removal and face-aware cropping; sketchbookapp is a native iPhone and iPad sketching studio with brushes, layers, filters and colour fill; and lipsyncdemo turns a single portrait into a talking avatar. Firefly and Photoshop are Adobe's own products, but he has worked hands-on with the same families of generative and image-processing techniques that power their AI features, which lets him explain what is happening behind each button. As an ACTA-certified trainer and DACE-certified curriculum developer, he is used to turning technical tools into clear, step-by-step practice.
In Generative AI for Adobe Photoshop, Dr. Ang helps designers, marketers and content creators produce professional images in a fraction of the usual time. The course opens with generative AI for visual communication, where learners look at how image models interpret prompts and how to brief them clearly. It then moves into Adobe Firefly for text-to-image generation and style control, and into Photoshop itself, using Generative Fill, Generative Expand and related features to add, remove and extend content within real photographs. The final topic focuses on enhancing and refining AI-generated images, because raw output rarely meets a brand standard: learners correct artefacts, match lighting and colour, combine generated elements with original assets and prepare files for web and print. Drawing on his experience building image tools, he explains why a model produces a particular result and how to steer it with better prompts, selections and reference images, rather than relying on trial and error. He also covers the practical questions organisations ask, such as commercial use, brand consistency and when AI imagery is not appropriate. Sophia Novita was a lecturer in Visual Communication Design for 4 years before she moved to Singapore. An enthusiast for education, she sets aside time outside her full-time job to teach. Her skill set ranges across Adobe software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as word processing and web development. This combination of design teaching experience and practical software knowledge gives her a strong foundation for helping learners bring new creative tools into their everyday work.
In Generative AI for Adobe Photoshop, Sophia applies her Photoshop skills and visual communication background to the generative AI features now available in Adobe's tools. James Lee Kin Nam is a graphics, animation and web technologies specialist who is certified by Adobe as an Adobe Certified Expert, Instructor and Web Specialist, with more than 20 years of progressive training experience across corporate enterprises and educational institutes. A graduate in Computer Studies and Multimedia Development, he brings a deep, hands-on understanding of Adobe's creative tools to every class. He is an ACTA certified trainer, holds the Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP Certified Trainer / Assessor) in adult training, and is also an MOE Registered Instructor.
In Generative AI for Adobe Photoshop, James applies his Adobe and visual design background to the generative features now built into Photoshop and Adobe Firefly. He guides learners through the principles of visual communication, how to write prompts that produce the intended look, and how to use Generative Fill, Generative Expand and text-to-image to add or remove objects, extend backgrounds and create original visuals. The final topic focuses on enhancing and refining AI-generated images so they are ready for print, web or social media. Learners leave able to combine sound design judgement with AI speed, producing polished, on-brand imagery in a fraction of the usual time.
Shanique Moh is an ACTA-certified trainer who combines software skills with traditional painting on canvas and mural painting. A 3D animation artist by training, she majored in concept creative design and storyboarding and graduated in Visual Communication. With experience across a multitude of industries, she brings a strong visual eye and a grounding in composition and concept development to her teaching. Shanique is good at building rapport and has collaborated with people of different cultures and demographics, which helps her make creative tools approachable for learners from varied backgrounds.
In Generative AI for Adobe Photoshop, Shanique applies her visual communication and concept design background to help learners use Adobe Firefly and the generative AI features in Photoshop with purpose.
