What You'll Learn
This course prepares you for the MB-335 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:
Domain 1 Configure products (22.5%)
- Configure formula items, planning items, co-products, and by-products; catch weight items and handling policies
- Configure inventory batches, batch attributes, lot inheritance, and hazardous materials/export control
- Create and manage product configuration model components, calculations, BOM lines, and route operations for constraint-based configurations
- Validate, approve, and test product configuration models and configure their pricing
- Design the engineering product lifecycle: engineering categories, product readiness/release policies
- Create, release, and process engineering change requests and change orders
Domain 2 Configure production prerequisites (22.5%)
- Implement and manage work calendars, resource capabilities, resources, and resource groups
- Create and manage operations and routes, including routes to manage scrap
- Create production units, groups, pools, and production journal names; configure production control parameters
- Manage production reservations (partial/re-reservations) and warehouse picking/put-away processes for a unified (mixed mode) manufacturing process
- Configure costing sheets, indirect costs, cost groups, costing versions, and cost categories
- Calculate and activate item cost prices, configure production posting profiles, and analyze production cost variances
Domain 3 Implement production methods (22.5%)
- Manage the discrete production order lifecycle (create, estimate, schedule, release, start, report as finished, end) and related BOM/BOM versions
- Create and process picking list, job card/route card, and report-as-finished journals; substitute materials
- Configure process manufacturing: batch reservations, consolidated batch orders, batch balancing/sequencing, formulas and formula versions
- Create and process batch orders (incl. co-products/by-products) and rework batch orders
- Create value streams, production flows, and kanban rules
- Process and manage kanban orders using kanban boards
Domain 4 Configure and manage production control (17.5%)
- Implement subcontracting for discrete and process manufacturing, including BOM/formula lines, resources, routes, and warehouses
- Create and process purchase orders and transfer orders for subcontracting items and service prices
- Configure manufacturing execution features and the production floor execution interface for production/batch orders
- Configure time and attendance prerequisites and calculate/approve time registrations
- Configure production scheduling parameters, infinite/finite scheduling, and capacity for machines/labor/tooling
- Set up and run operations/job scheduling, including Gantt-based production job scheduling
Domain 5 Implement additional supply chain management features (12.5%)
- Configure Rebate management parameters and reduction principles; process, review, and post rebates
- Evaluate and process planned production and kanban orders; configure intercompany master planning
- Configure forecast models, plans, and parameters; run and adjust demand forecasting
- Execute explosion and validate planning results; configure supply chain calendars
- Configure Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP)
- Configure the Planning Optimization Add-in and manage demand forecast lines
